About Giclee Printing
Definition: Giclee (pronounced zhee’CLAY). The French word "giclée" is a feminine noun that means a spray or a spurt of liquid.
The Process and Quality: Giclee prints are created using modern technology printers that are capable of producing impressively detailed prints for paintings. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with superior quality inks onto various substrate including canvas and photo-base paper. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction and it is as close to the original as you can get, not only in color, but in texture. Giclee prints on canvas look very close to the original art and are commonly found in museums and art galleries.
